Canadian Old Fashioned
What's more Canadian than Maple Syrup and Canadian Rye Whisky?! Sweet and bold, this old fashioned will have you smacking your lips and asking for another.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces Canadian Rye Whisky
- 1/2 ounce maple syrup or more to taste
- 3-4 dashes angostura bitters
- 1 strip orange peel optional, but not really
- 1 cherry optional
Instructions
- In a short glass, add the maple syrup and whisky and stir until the maple syrup has dissolved completely.
- Add a few dashes of angostura bitters and give it a quick stir.
- Add a large ice cube to the glass and stir for 40 seconds, or until the glass becomes cold to the touch and the drink is sufficiently chilled.
- Twist the orange peel over the glass to release the oil and drop into the drink. Serve with a cherry if desired. Enjoy responsibly!!
