Nutcracker Holiday Cocktail

Happy Holidays Everyone!!   We are feeling festive here and getting pumped for New Years Eve with our “Nutcracker” holiday cocktail.    This drink is a little bit sweet, a little bit nutty, and a little bit potent.  And truth be told, after our attempts to photograph it, we were ready for some booze!

Exactly two photos into this shoot, Nicole went to move the drinks back an inch or so and she knocks the darn thing over and it went flying.   Sticky liquor everywhere – up the wall, behind the desk….it was a mess.   So, we had to share the second drink to console ourselves and then pretend that we only needed 2 photos because they were so fantastic….

Anyways, the drink is super easy.   It’s just 1 oz Kahlua (or other coffee liquor), 1/2 oz Frangelico (or other hazelnut liquor), and 1 oz good quality (100% agave) blanco tequila shaken with ice and strained into a tumbler with a large ice cube.   Bonus – all the ingredients are available in NLCs across the province! No special trips required!

Additionally, if you can get your hands on a large ice cube tray, it’s so useful for drinks like these.  They melt slower and so dilute your drink less.   We picked one up online at Chapters-Indigo here.

And there you have it – the “Nutcracker” holiday cocktail.  Excuse us while we go have another…
